Perth International Jazz Festival is proud to announce a special one-night-only screening of the documentary 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘭: 𝘈 𝘗𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘵, followed by an exclusive Q&A with legendary guitarist Bill Frisell (USA) and award-winning filmmaker Emma Franz.

A character portrait of the ‘musicians’ musician’, anti-archetypal guitar hero and Grammy Award-winning artist – Bill Frisell: A Portrait is a nuanced and intimate film tracing the ideas, collaborations, and creative processes that have shaped Frisell’s remarkable career.

The documentary provides rare insight into the mind and artistry of one of the most significant and influential musicians of recent decades. It is a revealing exploration of his artistry, life, and music-making process.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Emma Franz, 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘭: 𝘈 𝘗𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘵 is an intimate documentary tracing the life, collaborations, and creative process of one of the most significant guitarists of our time.

Hosted inside Camelot Arts Club’s stunning 1920s Art Deco theatre, audiences will be transported into Frisell’s creative world — with rare stories, live performances, and collaborations alongside legends like Paul Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Jason Moran, Paul Motian, John Zorn, and more.
