Central to this program is the piano itself – an 1864 French instrument identical to Liszt’s own piano. The piano was recently restored to its former glory and is one of only a few of this quality still in use in the 21st century. The silvery tones of this instrument must be experienced live to appreciate the sounds that Liszt’s original audiences heard!
