Perth French Theatre invites you to rediscover Camille, not as a tragic figure or a footnote in someone else's story, but as the powerful artist she was.
Experience “Je suis Camille Claudel” at Camelot in Mosman Park from June 19 to 22.
This original work by Luc Félix, written especially for Perth French Theatre, is a poetic, emotional, and immersive journey into the soul of one of France’s greatest sculptors, a woman whose art, courage, and voice still resonate today.
Performed in French with English surtitles, this play sheds light on a genius long left in the shadows.
RESUME
When Hubert, a renowned expert, tells Camille Claudel's story, he doesn't expect to be contradicted. But with a fresh perspective on the subject and a feminine outlook on life, Agnès challenges his beliefs and casts a different light on Camille. What if Camille's story isn't quite the one her contemporaries wanted to tell us? This is the question the young woman asks, determined to dust off the past.
